(DDI) Information Technologist

The Kenya-Trusant Group is hiring an Information Technologist to join our team to provide administrative and related institutional support services to the USAID Office of Acquisition and Assistance, M/OAA/Development, Democracy, and Innovation.  

Job Description

  • Designs and develops information and knowledge management systems to improve the operations and services of USAID. This includes:
    • development and selection of tools, templates, and best practices; development of information distribution/sharing applications; development of tracking systems and databases for services, evaluations and monitoring, and personnel;
    • monitor design and generation of field support activity reports for senior management.
  • Maintains and .improves (including tying into major Agency Systems) a broad range of USAID specific applications, commercial off-the-shelf applications, and open-source applications including: U-TRAMS ( Travel and Mission Support System - USAID 's portal for tracking staff travel), USAID Guide to Technical Services, USAID Staffing Database, USAID Portfolio Database, Collaborative spaces developed by and for USAID technical staff
  • Provides Technical and Logistical IT Support and Consulting, Offers consulting services to all USAID technical offices and the front office regarding the adoption, purchase, and implementation of new or enhanced software systems.
  • Provides technical support for staff training and implementation of collaborative software to increase individual and group productivity through IT.
  • This may include helping offices and individuals set up work groups and procedures; this may also involve individuals, partners, units and offices outside USAID, including regional bureaus and field missions. Supports the capacity for teleconferencing and desktop interactions with Missions.
  • Supports the work of the USAID Knowledge Management Working (CKM) Group and the Agency Knowledge Management Reference Group, Develops and Maintains USAID Intranet.
  • Works with the teams within the program office to develop a dynamic Bureau website that will serve as a major field support tool and improve communications between the USAID technical staff and mission staff.


  • Must have current Secret clearance
  • Has over ten years of experience and a M.A./M.S. degree. Typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently and may oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
