Systems Engineer (Network Security Monitoring) - Level 6

POSITION:  Systems Engineer -Level 6 (Network Security Monitoring)
LOCATION:  Annapolis Junction/Fort Meade, MD 20701

Provide systems engineering (SE) support to customer and partner research, development, testing and evaluation of Cyber capabilities. Specific duties will include:
  • Defining and producing SE products and architecture artifacts to baseline and document a pilot system’s components, capabilities, interfaces, specifications and dependencies

  • Develop/document requirements and artifacts for full implementation of capabilities

  • Build user guides and document end-to-end data flows along with lesson learned and mitigations from the pilot.


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus at least twenty (20) years of Systems Engineering experience OR
  • A Master’s or PhD Degree may be substituted for two years of experience.  

  • A High School Diploma or GED plus twenty four (24) years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable

  • Expertise in documenting architectures and data flows

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, sensors used for network security monitoring

  • Understanding of Systems Administration concepts and practices.

  • Experience documenting system requirements for a large-scale procurement.
  • Experience establishing a repeatable process based on pilot activities and lessons learned.
