Facilities and Visitor Services Specialist

Job Description:
Kenjya-Trusant is seeking a candidate to fill the role of Facilities and Visitor Services Specialist to provide services to support  the United States Diplomacy Center, Office of Policy, Planning, and Resources, Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs at the United States Department of State.  The primary objective is to provide contractor services and deliverables through performance as they relate to the organization’s mission.

Clearance Requirement - Public Trust (MRPT)


Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders at the State Department, particularly in the Bureau of Diplomatic Security and Bureau of Administration
  • Assure that programs in the Diplomacy Center facility run smoothly in terms of room setup and AV
  • Perform some physical work such as setting up furniture and stages for events
  • Participate in walk-throughs of the Diplomacy Center facility to help plan furniture and stage configurations and AV needs
  • Run AV during events such as panel discussions, speeches, and films
  • Liaise with the State Department’s Bureau of Administration and Bureau of Diplomatic Security to secure building services for Diplomacy Center events
  • Meet and escort vendors that need access to the Diplomacy Center facility
  • Track large and small maintenance issues in the Diplomacy Center facility, and liaise with the Bureau of Administration on these maintenance issues 
  • Working closely with museum staff, perform inspections of Diplomacy Center exhibits, noting maintenance issues and doing simple repairs and cleaning tasks
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Skills and  Experience:
  • High School or GED, Associate’s degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of work experience in logistics, event support, facilities
  • Ability to be available for occasional evening functions
  • Experience with events for the general public
  • Experience in configuring and running AV equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in project management and multitasking
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong technology skills
