POSITION: Systems Engineer Level 1 LOCATION: Annapolis Junction, MD REQUIRED CLEARANCE:TS/SCI with Polygraph
Develop and manage/ update requirements for customer needs, milestone deliverables, and minor/major planned software releases for streaming analytic tools and platforms.
Develop, maintain and publish projected timelines and milestone goals for platform development and delivery.
Document and post confluence or wiki or other corporate document repositories as directed by SAS leadership.
Maintain and modify timelines as priorities shift and provide feedback about projected timeline impacts for proposed changes.
Review JIRA tickets for software development epics and tasks across SAS, generate JIRA reports as needed, and be able to project accurate timelines and schedule changes based on real progress.
Coordinate, schedule, de-conflict and send invitations for meetings, both in-person and virtual, for streaming analytic services personnel. Print and post calendars as needed by Streaming analytic services leadership.
Act as DevOps and sustainment engineer for all PIRANHAS systems (dev, test, pre-prod, prob).
Work with SAS leadership and PEO staff to collect program and contract work breakdown structure and create and maintain projected burn rates by contract/TTO quarterly or by request.
Perform System Administration (SA) tasks, but no limited to traditional type of SA work; more of a Software engineer background that has SA experience.
Perform/ complete STE/STN, maintain STE/STN compliance and ensure that IAVA patching is up to date.
Provide and maintain a platform security documentation that outlines the platform’s security- relevant interfaces and components, and STE/STN profile, made accessible to the ISSOs and security POCs of customers using the platform, which can be reference from or incorporated in the customers hosting SSP.
Maintain certification/ accreditation/ security authorization for PARANHAS baseline.
Proactive, engaging, aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies and be involved.
Engineer must possess Coding, shell Scripting, and automation skills.
Experience with Kubernetes, Dockers/Containers, Kafka, clustered systems/architectures, and large distribution systems would be a plus

Mission Utility clouds and Virtual Machine environments
Containerization technologies to distributed streaming engineers and the services required to maintain, monitor and deploy analytics.
Familiarity with ElasticSearch is a plus.
Analyzing user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
Analyzing system requirements and leads design and development activities.
Guiding users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies.
Providing technical direction and advice for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
Incorporating new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
Developing technical documentation.
Developing system Architecture and system design documentation.
Guiding system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
Interacting with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
Communicating with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering (SE), Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required; in addition to seven (7) years experience as a Systems Engineer (SE).
Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
