The Kenjya-Trusant Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide software development support on a long-term, multi-year classified contract. 

Position Description:

Develop, test, deploy, operate, and maintain digital signal processing systems and software in support of a distributed DSP architecture. The Software Engineer will provide expert guidance as part of a team to administer lab and fielded systems/networks, ensuring the security, stability, and effective performance of this DSP infrastructure.  These technology efforts support current and future system deployments.  In the immediate future the work to be performed is weighted toward upgrading, securing, and maintaining existing systems; when these initial goals are met the Software Engineer will work as part of a team to develop and deploy architecture and algorithm advancements. The Software Engineer will play a critical role in engineering these systems and software in an operational environment and will collaborate with a team to engineer new capabilities against challenging problems of national interest.  The Software Engineer needs to have technical expertise and highly effective people skills to collaborate with fellow developers and researchers in a team environment.

Required Individual Qualifications:
  • Twenty (20) years' experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

REQUIRED Technical Skills:
  • Extensive system administration experience on Linux operating systems, including expertise with custom services, kickstarts, virtual machines, network configuration, etc.
  • Extensive experience with C, C++, or Java software development
  • Extensive experience with Python and/or MATLAB programming
  • Experience with querying and maintaining MySQL or similar databases
  • Experience with the theory and implementation of DSP algorithms
  • Familiarity with current developments in computer hardware technology, including tradeoffs and configuration of various components

PREFERRED Technical Skills (desired, but not mandatory): 
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and clusters such as Elasticsearch or MongoDB
  • Familiarity with the theory and implementation of machine learning algorithms
  • Familiarity with web development, including languages such as JavaScript, frameworks such as Flask or AngularJS, etc.
