(ESEA) Systems Administrator Level 1 (ITC - ITEL) - (TS/SCI w/Poly)

POSITION:  Systems Administrator Level 1
LOCATION:  Fort Washington, MD
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:  TS/SCI with POLYGRAPH (must have before applying)



DESCRIPTION:  

This ITC-ITEL SA1 will provide support required to operate and maintain all hardware and software in compliance with established policies required by the customer for their production and training networks, as well as responsible for establishing and maintaining user accounts and help desk functions for staff and students.

Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.  Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Five (5) years' experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar score, type, and complexity is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 
  • * An additional five (5) years of Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree, for a total of ten (10) years of experience.

MANDATORY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience providing integration, implementation and maintenance of COTS/OSS products/tools.
  • Experience providing system administration and Tier 1 Help Desk Support within a Windows and Linux environment.
  • Experience providing configuration management server administration support.
  • Experience providing engineering solutions for server build outs within a Windows and Linux environments.
  • Understanding of backup and recovery support.
  • Ability to provide innovative implementation recommendations and solutions.
  • Ability to identify risks and mitigations throughout systems life cycle phases.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and propose engineering standards, processes and procedures for an integration project/requirement.
  • Ability to identify, create, and report on performance monitoring metrics on integrated COTS tools.
  • Ability to lead integration efforts into an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to identify the need for additional resources (servers/people).
  • Ability to provide technical integrity, quality and completeness of work associated with deliverables, processes, etc.
  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), Secure the Enterprise/Secure the Network (STE/STN).
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems.  Remain involved in the resolution process.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform system capacity analysis and planning; develop and implement solutions.
  • Build, configure, monitor, and maintain virtual/storage environments, to include network security availability.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and remain involved in the resolution process.
  • Identify and troubleshoot server security vulnerabilities and implement security related software, hardware, backup, firewalls, and access controls to include universal two factor (U2F) authentication.
  • Support the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware.
  • Experience with: Microsoft Server 2012 and 2016; VxRails; Dell EMC VxRail Enclave and Dell DP4400 (Data Protection Backup solution); Secure the Network (STN) Standards; Dell RAID Disk Arrays; CISCO & Dell Switch command line syntax including Netflow and Port Security; Domain Controller; DHCP servers; Kiwi Lo Server; ELK stack; New software and systems as the networks evolve.

HIGHLY DESIRED:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Related certifications; e.g. CISSP, SEC+, CEH, etc.
